Travel Tip #3: Booking the One-Way-Ticket

It is so exciting to book a One-way-ticket and it helps to plan the next steps.

My favorite platform to check flights is Google Flights.

If you are flexible with your date, you can see the price difference on different days for the next months. That’s the advantage in comparison to other platforms where you can only check the prices around the date you chose.

Regarding booking, my preference is to book directly on the airlines website to change flights easily and have a reliable contact person for refunds.

If you are unsure or flexible where you are heading to, Google Flights has the option to show worldwide offers. It’s easy to compare and choose the best price offer.

During my round-the-world-trip, the cheapest flight regarding the distance was from Honolulu/Hawai’i to Melbourne/Australia for 367 USD in 2022. It was an 11 hour flight with Jetstar, no food included. Usually this flight costs minimum double to around 1000 USD. The reason for this huge price drop was that it was scheduled for the first christmas day on the 25th Dec.

Being flexible is key to save money.
