Travel Tip #11: What to bring to Namibia

Namibia is an amazing country to explore often recommended for first timers on the african continent. Here are some tips when you are traveling there.

Sun hat or scarf

Bring a sun protection for your head. Sun hat or scarf is perfect. It is also windy there, so a scarf is optimal or hat with a band, otherwise it will fly away.

Binocular

On safari tours you will sit in an open car. Sometimes the animals are closer sometimes far away. A binocular can help to spot the animals or also help to take a shot with your camera. I had an Olympus 10×50 DPS-I binocular which is a good universal binocular for Safaris.

Hiking Shoes

Namibia is an amazing place with different landscapes and some opportunities to hike. Bring your hiking shoes and enjoy your time.

Taxi

Uber is not available in Namibia, but there is a similar app called Lefa. Download the app and pay cash or by card.

Planning ahead

If you travel to Namibia, plan ahead your tours and trips. The demand can be high and if you are only there for a specific time, you may have to wait for the next available one.

Enjoy your time & safe travels!
