While traveling it can happen more or less easily to get robbed, loose or forget things. While clothes and toiletries are quickly replaced, some things are not. Like a credit card, phone, passport. Here are some tips that the loss is not ruining your travels.

1.Get a cloud backup of your smartphone

On a phone is everything, bookings, maps, contacts and photos. In case you loose your smartphone, it is easy to buy a new smartphone and set it up in 30 minutes. Set your backup time regularly and everything is save.

2.Have a backup phone with all important apps

Nowadays many apps require a TAN, SMS or App verification specifically linked to your smartphone. If you loose it, you don’t have your phone number anymore and it is inconvenient and time consuming to contact all the companies and change the number. If you already set up your second phone exactly like your current one with your second phone number, it gets easier. Now with your banking app or credit card app, you have the choice to select the second phone for verification.

3.Have a second credit card

Having 2 credit cards with enough credit limit is especially important in more expensive countries or book a rental car. Even if you think that you would never spent that much and want to limit yourself, it is also a safety measure. In case you have to go to the hospital and pay everything upfront before claiming it back from your insurance.

4. Oldschool paper prints

Even if everything is digital and in your cloud, it can be helpful to have physical copies of your passport, insurance, vaccination pass. In case you need it along your current travel while lost your phone.

5.Have at least 2 locks

Living in hostels everything is possible. Even if you think the people your are with are super reliable and trustworthy, you really never know. Locking up all your things in a locker with your first lock and backpack with your second lock is so important. (Story Time: Also drunk people can get into the room in the middle of the night and search through your things :D).
